Are you a cultural or creative professional looking for funding and support for your project? Do you want to collaborate with partners from different countries and disciplines? Do you want to reach new audiences and markets for your work? If yes, then you should check out the Creative Europe programme 2021-2027.

Creative Europe is the EU’s programme to support the cultural and creative sectors in Europe and beyond. It has a budget of €2.4 billion for the next seven years, which is 50% more than the previous programme. It covers all cultural and creative sectors, from music, performing arts, literature and publishing, to design, architecture, film, audiovisual and news media.

Creative Europe has three main strands: CULTURE, MEDIA and CROSS-SECTORAL. Each strand offers different opportunities for funding, training, networking and promotion. Here are some of the highlights of each strand:

  • CULTURE: This strand supports cooperation and exchanges among cultural organisations and creators across borders. It offers funding for cooperation projects, platforms, networks, literary translation, mobility, pan-European cultural entities and prizes. It also supports the European Capitals of Culture and the European Heritage Label initiatives.
  • MEDIA: This strand supports the European film and audiovisual industries in the development, distribution and promotion of their work. It offers funding for content development, business innovation, audience development, policy support and subtitling. It also supports the European Film Awards and the LUX Audience Award initiatives.
  • CROSS-SECTORAL: This strand aims at exploiting the potential for collaboration between different cultural and creative sectors, as well as addressing the common challenges they face. It offers funding for creative innovation labs, news media, policy cooperation and Creative Europe desks.

Creative Europe also promotes efforts and best practices that contribute to the achievement of key European Commission priorities such as the European Green Deal, inclusion, gender equality and media literacy. All actions and projects funded by the programme will have to apply those principles in the design and implementation of their activities. Creative Europe is a great opportunity for cultural and creative professionals to push boundaries, innovate, cooperate and reach new audiences.
